Ridge trail

This is a short self-guided trail which begins and ends at the farmhouse. It is a circular trail which takes about 1 to 1.5 hrs to complete.

This is a nice scenic walk with open plains on your one side, and mountains on the other. The walk has a slight elevation and is set at the base of the Naukluft Mountains. Kudus and Baboons are often seen on the walk as well as birds, such as the Mountain Chat and Pale Winged Starling, who are usually seen perching in the branches of a Stinkbush or Shepard's Tree, both prominent because of their unusual white bark. The terrain is sometimes a bit rocky, but still easy walking as about 50% of the hike follows a car track. So closed walking shoes are advised, as well as a hat and about 1 litre of water each. And once again something warm in winter. A nice walk for the afternoon, so enjoy. This trail does have an extension for those who like a longer walk, see "Zebra Trail".
